Membership in ISTRO is voluntary and open to all eligible applicants regardless of race, color, gender, religion, or national origin. There are three categories of membership within ISTRO:

Founding Members are those individuals who contributed to the creation of the ISTRO through financial or volunteer contributions before January 1, 2026. 

Regular Members are individual tactical rope practitioners who meet the experience, training, and/or qualification requirements as determined by the Board of Directors. 

Student Members are first time individuals who are studying tactical rope operations through trainers affiliated with ISTRO, and upon successful certification will become Regular Members.

$40 certification fee and $90 membership fee ($30 per year, or $2.50 per month)
